Legal Assitance

The Spanish Community Center in Joliet, IL, offers various services beneficial to immigrant families and their sponsors. Their DOJ-accredited immigration services include assistance with VAWA, U visas, adjustment of status, and naturalization. The Immigrant Family Resource Program helps with applications for Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, WIC, and provides translation services. The Early Care & Education program offers bilingual childcare for children aged 2–5 from low-income families. The Family Advocacy Center supports families in preserving or reunifying with their children through counseling and referrals. The Food Pantry provides free groceries every Tuesday without requiring ID or proof of income. Housing Advocacy assists families in securing safe housing to prevent child placement in care. All services are available in English and Spanish.
