HIAS provides free immigration legal representation in Immigration Court, with USCIS, and in family courts for income-eligible clients (under 200% FPL) who fear serious harm if returned.
Services include asylum and other humanitarian relief; case management (benefits applications, housing navigation, transportation/childcare coordination); crisis intervention, short-term individual/family counseling, and psycho-educational groups; volunteer accompaniment, interpretation/translation, English instruction, and job coaching.
HIAS also supports asylees in <a href="https://www.importami.org/en-us/services/4277" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Maryland</a> through the Asylee Outreach Project and offers global legal help to stateless people.
