Central American Legal Assistance (CALA) provides free or low-cost immigration legal services in New York.

Attorneys assist with asylum applications, consular processing, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), employment authorization, NACARA, removal hearings, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and U visas.

Services include help completing forms, filing with USCIS, and representation at asylum interviews, in immigration court, before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and in federal court.

CALA serves immigrants from Central and South America and other newly arrived individuals seeking legal protection in the United States.

Counties served: Bronx, Dutchess, Kings (Brooklyn), Nassau, NY (Manhattan), Putnam, Queens, Richmond (Staten Island), Suffolk, Westchester.
